In the world of abalone farming, sustainability is crucial for ensuring a thriving industry. At Spinetech, a leading player in the field, we are continuously innovating and seeking new ways to maintain the delicate balance between production and environmental responsibility.
In our current project, we are focusing on abalone maturation in the southern region and exploring the potential of a self-sustaining macroalgae laboratory.
The Role of Macroalgae in Abalone Farming:
Macroalgae plays a vital role in providing nutrition to growing abalones. In the south, we rely on the Pelillo species of macroalgae as the primary food source for our abalones. During the summer months, we also incorporate the Huiro species, which has valuable applications in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. However, limited availability in the north makes large-scale cultivation of Huiro impractical. As a result, we aim to establish a macroalgae laboratory in the south to increase self-sustainability and enhance the use of locally sourced feed for abalone growth.
Self-Sustainability and Future Expansion:
At Spinetech, we recognize the significance of self-sustainability in ensuring the long-term viability of our operations. By establishing a macroalgae laboratory, we aim to reduce dependence on external suppliers and maintain a consistent supply of high-quality feed for our abalones. Our current project in the south is just the beginning, and if successful, we plan to replicate this success in the north, achieving 100% self-sufficiency in abalone feed production. This strategic expansion will not only secure our company's supply chain but also contribute to the overall sustainability of the industry.
We are fully committed to upholding the highest standards of compliance and environmental stewardship. We stay up-to-date with regulations and adapt to the ever-changing environmental landscape. By aligning our practices with the latest norms and commitments, we ensure the sustainable growth of our business while safeguarding the delicate marine ecosystems.
Our aim is to play a crucial role in shaping the future of sustainable abalone farming and bring our clients the best quality abalones.
